As of early 2022, VW ID4 and ID3 have no way of controlling the charging current, with the exception of the “Reduce Charging Current” Charging Option. When this option is engaged, it only charges at 8amps, which drastically lower than the typical 24 amps one would expected from a 30 amps circuit.
Thus the only recommend configuration from splitvolt is SPS 02-022 and a 24 amps EVSE (charging adapter).
