What's the best configuration to Charge Audi E-tron with a Splitvolt splitter Switch?

Standard Audi E-tron mobile charging adapter (EVSE) comes with a NEMA 14-50 adapter, and will at default charge at 40 amps or 20 amps.

One can purchase the SplitVolt SPS 02-032 or SPS 01-031 model to accommodate the NEMA 14-50 plug.

However the maximum charging current allowed for a continuous load for a 30amp circuit according to NEC is 24 amps. If the user goes over 24amps by accident, the built in circuit breaker will trip, thus disabling the Splitter Switch. The splitter switch is keeping your home safe from charging at 40 amps on a 30 amps circuit, which can cause electric fires.

Luckily, the E-tron charger can be set to 50% to stay within the current limit. See this video to learn how to set charging rate to 50% which is equal to 20 amps.

Alternatively, one can purchase a SplitVolt SPS 02-022 or SPS 01-011 model, and purchase an additional 3rd party mobile charging adapter (EVSE) and charge at 24 amps.
